“We were paying 45% in Germany. Now we're at 2.5% in Cyprus with better weather, amazing health insurance, great food, and the SAME EU benefits as in Germany. The setup took 3 weeks and 93Tax handled everything.”

“The math was simple: pay 35% or relocate and pay 2.5%. Best business decision we made this year. I thought relocating would be a nightmare with endless paperwork. They got our company set up, banking sorted, and residency approved while I kept building. Worth every penny!”

FAQs

I'm interested. What's the next step?

The next step is a free, no-obligation discovery call with our founding team. We'll assess your specific situation and give you a clear picture of your potential tax savings. Just enter your email in the form on this page, and you'll be directed to our calendar to book a time that works for you. It takes less than 60 seconds.

What if my business doesn't have IP? Can you still help?

Yes, absolutely. The IP Box is a powerful accelerator for tech companies, but it's just one of many reasons founders relocate to Cyprus. We help all types of businesses and individuals take advantage of the broader benefits, including:

  • A flat 12.5% corporate tax rate on profits—one of the lowest in the EU.
  • 0% tax on dividend income for non-domiciled residents.
  • 0% tax on profits from selling securities or entire companies.

Our core mission is to help you legally reduce your tax burden. Whether you are a consultant, e-commerce store, holding company, or tech founder, we build the optimal structure for your specific needs.

What exactly is the IP Box, and who is it for?

The IP Box is a special tax regime that allows your company to pay an effective corporate tax rate as low as 2.5% on profits generated from qualifying intellectual property. It’s specifically designed for tech-forward businesses—like SaaS platforms, AI/ML companies, patent holders, and software developers—that create and own their IP. It's Cyprus' way of attracting innovative companies to the EU.

Which business activities qualify for the 2.5% rate (and which don't)?

The regime is designed for businesses creating proprietary technology. The core idea is that the work must be R&D-focused and lead to the creation of valuable, novel IP.

Qualifying activities include:

  • Software development (SaaS, mobile apps, AI/ML)
  • Patents, utility models, and other protected inventions
  • Digital products and data analytics platforms

Non-qualifying assets primarily involve marketing and branding:

  • Trademarks, brand names, and image rights do not qualify.
  • Standard consulting or services without IP creation are also excluded.
How do I prove my R&D is 'substantial' and what records are needed?

This is the most critical part of compliance, and where we do the heavy lifting for you. "Substantial" means you're creating genuinely new technology, not just making minor tweaks. To prove it, tax authorities need a clear audit trail. We provide our clients with a "Compliance Vault" to meticulously track:

  • Detailed R&D Documentation: Sprint notes, technical specs, commit histories, and architectural diagrams.
  • Cost Tracking: Payroll for your Cyprus-based developers and invoices from any outsourced R&D.
  • Income Attribution: Clear records showing which revenue streams come directly from your qualifying IP.
  • Contracts: Agreements ensuring all IP rights are assigned back to the Cypriot company.
What happens during the “30-day setup”?
  • Week 1 (remote): We file incorporation, prep shareholder docs, and guide you through e-signing the IP move.
  • Week 2 (remote): Tax and VAT numbers arrive while we onboard directors and submit the bank KYC pack together.
  • Week 3 (in Cyprus): You fly in for biometrics; we escort you to payroll, social-insurance, SIM, and utility appointments.
  • Week 4 (in Cyprus + remote): Bank and fintech accounts activate, and we sit with you to switch on the bookkeeping stack and hand over the compliance binder.

Timeline assumes you send requested documents within 48 hours.

How does the 60-day tax residency rule work practically?

Spend at least 60 days on the island, avoid tax residency elsewhere, and keep a lease or owned home. We walk you through Gesy (national health insurance) signup, utilities, and a local SIM, then run your travel log with our tracking app so every border stamp is captured for you.

Which banks and payment processors can I actually use?

Local banks: Hellenic Bank, Bank of Cyprus, Alpha Bank.

Fintech accounts: Revolut, Wise, Juni, Qonto, Wamo.

Payment processors: Stripe, PayPal, Klarna, Shopify Payments, Adyen, Checkout.com.
